The Certified Data Centre Professional (CDCP®) training and certification are developed by EPI – the first and largest certified data centre professional training provider in the world. Simon Besteman

Simon Besteman

Simon Besteman has over 20 years of experience working at ISPs, suppliers, and data centres and as a management consultant for a wide range of organizations. Simon has held various senior management positions in multinational companies in the areas of service, sales and marketing, operations management and strategic development.

After years in management at Hewlett-Packard, Simon went on to develop the European activities of Demon Internet, one of the first ISP’s in Europe. In 1999 he was part of the founding team of Redbus Interhouse (later acquired by Telecity), developing the first carrier-neutral data centres in Europe, a revolutionary concept in those days.

Currently, Simon is the CEO of ISPConnect, the Dutch coalition of hosting providers. As a leading representative of the industry he is a frequent blogger on industry and policy matters, a keynote speaker at congresses and conferences, and a participant at Dutch government round tables on telecommunication, data centre and internet regulatory matters. He sits on the boards of various industry groups, with a particular focus on education, employment and governance.

Simon is also a trainer at EPI for the CDCP®, CDCS, CDFOM, CITS courses. Simon has many years of experience as a trainer and workshop facilitator. His varied and international background enables him to bridge cultural and knowledge gaps effectively. He knows how to keep candidates interested and motivated until the very end. Simon is a warm communicator, with a strong sense of humour who knows how to keep the training fun, without ever losing sight of the goals.
